I’ve been sharing with you all season some of my favorite places to visit to check out the holiday decor.  Well, this next one is a hidden gem that not many people know about.  It’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.

So since we are local, we like to visit all the resorts and see the holiday decor.  Fort Wilderness is my all time favorite place to go.  We will be going out of town for Christmas, so we squeezed this in this past weekend and boy oh boy the campers at the resort did not disappoint with the decor!

Now before I show you all the decor, I will start with some info on how to get to Fort Wilderness.  If you would like to park at the campgrounds, you must be a resort guest or have dining reservations at either Trail’s End, Hoop-Dee-Doo, or Mickey’s Backyard BBQ.  Don’t worry though, if you do not have a dining reservation you can simply hop on a boat to the campgrounds from the Magic Kingdom.  We had a dinner reservation at Trail’s End, so that’s how we started our adventure.

Since this was a spontaneous visit, we did not rent a golf cart.  We checked to see if they had any available for the night and they were all rented out.  So just a tip, if you plan to do this, I recommend booking in advance a golf cart, but this is totally doable by foot, which is what my family did.  Not one person complained about walking either, but if your little ones do get tired, there are bus stops throughout the resort for you to hop on and off of.

We started walking from the restaurant to the first campground loop.  You can’t miss the decorations, they are everywhere.

The campers go all out.  From just decorating in front of their campsite, to renting out a second campsite just for their decorations.  It is truly a Christmas wonderland.

We did a lot of walking, but let me tell you my kids never complained once.  We walked for a couple hours enjoying everyone’s decorations.  The amount of work that people put into these is absolutely incredible.

This castle display was beyond incredible.  You can actually go in for a picture in the chair.  Inside there was Cinderella’s glass slipper and a fireplace.  On the ground there were lights that looked like water going around the castle.

They even had Cinderella’s carriage next to the castle that you can sit in and take a photo.  The man said it takes him over two weeks to set it up and he stays until mid January.

Even the golf carts were decked out.  It’s so fun just walking around and seeing all the decorated carts go by.

So if you are looking for a truly fun evening looking at Holiday Decorations, Fort Wilderness is my number one pick for sure.  Just head on over and walk around. You never know what you will see.  As new resort guests come in, there is always new decor.  Oh and one more thing.  They also offer sleigh rides pulled by horses where you can ride around and see the decor as well. The horses even have jingle bells on! Happy Holidays Everyone!
