Holiday Traditions~Decorating the Christmas Tree

The one thing that I love about the holidays is that almost every family has their own traditions.  No matter what holiday they celebrate, there are special traditions that families share together.  One of the traditions we have in our family is purchasing a new Disney ornament after we put up our Christmas tree.  We normally put our tree up and then head down to Disney Springs and go to the Christmas store to find our new ornament.  We have been doing this for over 17 years, since my first daughter was born.

Our tree topper has been with us since we were married over 20 years ago.  Minnie Mouse still gets packed away in the same box she came in and she’s seen some difficult times.  The super glue has come out on occasions, but she’s still standing strong 20 years later.

One of our favorite Disney characters is Stitch.  We love him so much that we named our cat Stitch too.  This is one of my favorite ornaments on the tree.

The Mickey head ornament is a classic on our tree and we have many versions of it.  We even have a bunch of tiny ones that my youngest son is in charge of hiding around the tree.  They are our own little “hidden” Mickeys.

Of course we have a Baby’s First Christmas for all of our children.  I love that when you go to Disney Springs, they can customize them on the spot or already have a variety of customized options.

The ear hat ornaments are another favorite on our tree.  There are so many character options to choose from.  Rapunzel is one of our family’s favorites.

Along with the ear hat ornaments, we have an assortment of shoe ornaments as well.  The Sally one is so bright and colorful.

My husband always seems to pick out the latest Tinkerbell ornament to add to his collection.  We have so many hidden throughout the tree.  I love her little holiday dress.

And with the new Dumbo movie coming out soon, we can’t forget about this little cutie!

This year my oldest surprised me for my birthday with this ornament, with my favorite Disney dog Pluto on it.  I absolutely love it.

So what are your holiday traditions?  This is just one of my families traditions, please feel free to share yours in the comments.  Happy Holidays!
