Helpful Tips For Your Upcoming Disney Vacation ~ Main Streeter Suggestions

The Summer vacation season is almost here. For many families, that means that Disney vacations will be in the plan for the next couple of months. Being that summertime is pretty busy at the various Disney Parks, I thought it would be a good idea to ask our readers for their favorite Disney vacation tips and suggestions. Here’s what they had to say!

Mary Bryan ~ It rains at Disney. Take rain poncho, and keep on having fun.

Sara Garoutte ~ It’s not a marathon. It’s a sprint. Take it in doses and head back to the room to rest when you can. Don’t try and go all day every day or you’re just going to be miserable after a day or two of high crowds and high temps.

Joe Diebold ~ Bring a power strip!

Leah Harris ~ We have been going the last week in August for the past 4 years. It’s hot, but that doesn’t stop us! We usually schedule a table service meal for the midday hour, so we have a place to cool down and rest (we aren’t fans of trekking back to the hotel midday, but that’s always an option as well).

Ashley Morgan Mueller ~ It’s great to have a plan, but don’t over plan. Some of the best memories are the unexpected moments!

Chris Aschero ~ For Disneyland especially, use Max Pass Plus. Worth the money to bypass long lines.

Kellie Kearns Capps ~ Water is your friend.. no matter which coast you get to visit.

Danette Sutten ~ You don’t need to go to a park everyday to have a great vacation! There is so much more than parks.

Christa Andrews ~ Don’t try and do everything! Have each person have a top 2 or 3 things they want to do and check those off first. Then anything extra is BONUS!

Natalie Rhodes ~ If you can imagine yourself yelling some version of “This is expensive and you are going to have fun or else”, your family is not ready for Disney World. On a similar note, stay the amount of time you can afford. It’s not fun to be obsessing over every penny.

Jodi Miley Stamp ~ Visit the water parks! Go at park open and leave early afternoon and get ready to go to another park at night!

Melissa Wright Naeve ~ Blister band aids! A total lifesaver!

Mary Ann Adona ~ Starbucks will always give cups of ice water if asked for! Most other walk ups will too.

Lindsey Freehill ~ Water, sunblock, hats, comfy shoes!

Dawn Short ~ Don’t forget to take pictures/videos with your camera then put the dang thing away. Facebook, Instagram, etc. are always there. Those can wait! Take in the sights, sounds, and smells while in line. You’ll be glad you did.

Dianna Prior Whitfield ~ Be patient! It’s hot and crowded. Keep your cool and have a great time.

Monica Gilkin ~ Pack water shoes or flip flops in your back pack. When it starts to down pour you can switch into them and save your sneakers! They don’t take up too much space in the backpack. No more having to dry out your shoes!

These are all great suggestions! Just remember, vacations are supposed to be fun, so don’t sweat the small stuff. Speaking of sweat, bring your sunscreen and stay as hydrated as you can! Do you have vacation tips that you’d like to share? Tell us your thoughts in the comments!
