Products to Help You Stay Pretty as a Princess at Disney! (Main Streeter Suggestions)

Disney-Princess-Quotes-to-Live-By-Ariel

As you know, it’s hot here in Central Florida. Like, very hot. When you get ready to head to a park, maybe fix your hair or put some make up on, it probably won’t be long until your cute look begins to melt a little. Or a lot. Now, I know some of you don’t like to fix your hair or wear make up to go to Disney, but for those like me who do, we have some suggestions! I polled our readers to ask them what products they use while at Disney World or Disneyland in the heat, that keeps them looking and feeling their best. We got over 100 responses, but here are a few of the suggestions that were graciously submitted by our awesome Main Streeters~

Jayne May~ Primer and a good finishing spray. Stays all day!

Julie Lovett~ Revlon color stay!

Jennifer Parrish Shumake~ NYX Mineral Matte Finishing Powder and their Matte Finish setting spray are what I use on super hot & humid days at the park. Also, I use Revlon Colorstay foundation with sunscreen. It lasts really well, but some people find the coverage too heavy. I prefer MAC’s Studio Fix Fluid foundation (when I can afford it!)

Maggie Moore~ Make up…I’m a Merle Norman girl. They have a finishing setting spray and it’s amazing! I can be a total sweat hog and my face (especially my eye make up) can still be in tact!!

Carol Myers-Dencer~ Covergirl has a tinted moisturizer with sunblock that I use to even out my skin tone, that doesn’t sweat off and prevents burning… and a light lip gloss and that’s it.

Joelle Marie~ Definitely a tinted moisturizer with SPF! Since I usually like to wear sunglasses which require me to wear my contacts (and my eyes look tiny without my glasses!), I go with a nice neutral eyeshadow primer, some liquid waterproof eyeliner and waterproof mascara. I also make sure to carry lip balm with SPF with me! No one likes sunburned lips! They key is to make sure that your makeup doesn’t feel heavy and in turn make you sweat even more!

Tanisha Witsman Chaurero~ I wear very little makeup to the parks. Instead of foundation I use a CC cream or Naked beauty balm. Then mascara and lip stick. I have natural curly hair so I am lucky. I start out with it down but always have a hair tie on my wrist!

Amber Izworski~ You have to work with the humidity! Estee Lauder Double wear foundation and urban decay eye primer! No matter what other brands you use, your makeup will not move!

Gareth Bowen~ I’m gonna chirp in for the men and say nothing but a decent post shave moisturizer even if you haven’t shaved and Sun cream.

Jennifer Goldbach Lomassaro~ I use Josie Maran Argan Oil products. In summer there is a Argan oil light foundation type with a tint in it. Love her products. Helps with aging signs too!!

Jaymi Cannon-Palmer~ I put on a full face. I start with a moisturizer that has at least spf 15, then I use Hard Candy primers. They are silicone based and work best at keeping make up on. After about 15 minutes I use a light tinted cc cream foundation, along with concealer if necssary. I use waterproof mascara, eyeliner and a light eyeshadow pencil (also waterproof)
This usually lasts me about 12 hours. The eyeliner is the first to go followed by the concealer. The eyeshadow, mascara and cc cream foundation last until the end of the day. Leaving me not looking so bad. It sounds like a lot of steps but the makeup looks really light.

Amber Asbill~ I always wear makeup. It’s just who I am. I’m a MAC lover. Matte foundation and Studio Fix powder. I carry the powder but I have extremely oily skin and I’m steadily blotting throughout the day. You can get blot sheets for that. My favorite mascara has always been Loreal Lash out mascara. I don’t care for waterproof but I’m not much of a face sweater, so my mascara doesn’t run. If we do a water ride, I go in the bathroom if need be and wipe off any that may have run. I wear a full face of makeup but these are the products that I feel most people are concerned with the most. I’m looking into trying Sweat cosmetics. It was developed for athletes.

Tanisha Witsman Chaurero~ I use Chi hair products. I also use Joico power whip to tame my curls. My hair barely frizzes in the park.

Cheryl Grady Fleming Estée~ Lauder Perfectionist Serum Makeup, L’oreal HydraPerfect loose powder, L’oreal Voluminous Mascara, Neutrogena Lip Gloss because of the SPF 20, Bumble and Bumble Straight Blow Dry Styling Balm, Biosilk Silk Therapy serum and Rusk W8less Plus Hairspray and a Chi flat iron. I have curly wavy frizzy hair. I just like to get some nice pictures during the first hour or so. After that, I don’t much care.

Brenna Rings~ I LIVE AND SWEAR BY KAT VON D! Anything and everything from her lasts me all day long! I’m a makeup junkie and am always at Sephora. I’m also in need of full coverage products and she checks all my boxes on my list. Her lock it foundation and liquid lipstick lasts me from 7am till 8-9 pm. And I usually don’t re apply my lipstick. You can go to your local Sephora and have them color match your skin color and tone and ask them to take a sample home to try for yourself. My sample lasted me about 2 weeks and the bottle to buy is a very good size for $35-$40.

These are all excellent suggestions and are very much appreciated! For me, I try to cover up my freckles or at least blend them a bit, but it’s hard. I use Sephora matte powder, Lorac bronzer, and Urban Decay eye primer. My good friend Melissa suggested Anastasia liquid lipstick for all day coverage, and I recently tried it in “Sepia” and it’s good stuff. You can get that at Sephora too! I know some people might not get the concept of make up on vacation, but some of us can’t break the habit, even when we’re at our care free happy place! So, how about you? Do you have any tips for fellow make up junkies to use while we’re braving the heat at Disney? Tell us about it, we’d love to hear! ~M

  1. I swear by Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H foundation and Lancome dual finish powder. Also I love Lancome Definicils waterproof mascara, no smudging and Splash Mountain proof. Kenra hairspray 25 is the best anti humidity hold for a day at the parks.
