Today In Disney History ~ March 30th

Our partnership with Disney goes back many years. It started with caring for Disney cast members at our Centra Care clinics. When a new community hospital was needed in Celebration, Florida, Disney’s landmark planned community, we answered the call with Florida Hospital Celebration Health, which has redefined community health care.
Part of the reason for our close connection is our similar cultures. We have terrific people. We are very serious about our respective missions. And we care deeply about the communities we serve and the well-being of our children.
Wanting to make a difference for children in this community is what led us to join together to build the new Florida Hospital for Children. It is the only hospital in history to carry the Walt Disney name.
But Disney’s involvement in our hospital doesn’t end with a name on the building. The talented Imagineers of the Walt Disney Company have created an immersive, magical lobby that not only addresses the need to heal physically, but emotionally as well. With their characteristic inventiveness and legendary attention to detail, Florida Hospital for Children moves hearts and touches families in ways nothing else can, speeding up the healing process by creating a stress-free, almost fun environment where children can to continue to be children, even as they undergo treatment and recover from often serious health issues.
The heart and mission of Florida Hospital is taking care of children, something we have done since we first opened our doors in 1908. Together with Walt Disney World, we have created an amazing place of health, healing and wellness, where miracles and magic happen each and every day.
