mouse to marquee with borderThis week we wanted to take a moment to take a little intermission. Why? Two reasons actually. First next Tuesday (10/13) is the official release of the Aladdin Diamond Edition Blu-ray Combo Pack. One of the things many Disney and Aladdin fans have wondered since this release was announced in February was how would Disney address the death of Robin Williams, the voice of the Genie and how would they honor him in this release? Disney has done a very good job of not revealing many details about the extras that would be on the Blu-Ray set.

The Disney Store‘s explanation of the Blu-ray and it’s extras has been “From the Academy Award-winning music to the unforgettable moments of sidesplitting comedy and soaring adventure, enter ”a whole new world” of entertainment in this astounding, fun-filled Blu-ray Diamond Special Edition, featuring the deleted song Proud of Your Boy, games, movie secrets and so much more – it’s everything you could ever wish for!”

51S3xvwWyWL._SX342_This morning Good Morning America did a segment on the Blu-Ray release and released this amazing clip that will be on the Blu-Ray. The clip shows outtakes of Robin Williams in the recording booth as the Genie doing voices that were cut from the film.  The outtake that also includes an interview with Ron Clements, Scott Weinger,Brad Kane, Linda Larkin, and Lea Salonga from the movie, and  Alan Menken and Jonathan Freeman from the movie and Broadway musical can be seen on Good Morning America’s website.
