TMSM’s Random Acts of Kindness Thursday ~ More from Wes!

tmsm

As we told you previously, we’ve been following a sweet little boy named Wes, who is in his fourth battle with neuroblastoma. As much as people like giving Wes Star Wars gifts and such to cheer him up, one thing that Wes himself likes to do is give gifts to others. He has such a sweet and genuine soul, and even though he struggles, at his young age, he enjoys giving to other children who are in similar situations. He’s an update from Wes’ mother on his Facebook page.

United In GRACE needs YOU to help put hope back in Christmas! This year will be our 5th annual Wes’ Wish: Piles of Smiles for a Child with Cancer Toy Drive for the oncology families at CHKD. Every year we provide Christmas for the families who are oftentimes struggling financially while trying to save their child – the fighters, their siblings, and most recently the parents.

We are looking for local businesses across Hampton Roads and the Middle Peninsula to be drop off locations for our toy drive for the month of November. We are also looking for volunteers to do pick-ups from individuals.

We will be collecting new, unwrapped gifts for children both boys and girls from ages newborn to 18 years old. Many of the older children also really enjoy gift cards (such as iTunes, Xbox points, GameStop, etc), soft throw blankets, nail polish sets, video games, bath and body works, art/drawing sets, etc. we are also collecting gift cards and adult coloring books with markers for the children to give their parents. Please let us know if you would like to be a part of this great cause!

Each year at Christmas time, I try to extend gifts from TMSM to a family or cause who needs the help. I think this year, helping children with cancer and their families is an excellent idea. More to follow on that. You can keep up with Wes and his journey at his Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/Wes.Fight.Against.NB?fref=ts. Any acts of kindness towards others are important, and you just never know how you can make a difference in someone’s life! Thanks for reading! Sending lots of hugs and pixie dust to you all!
