Happy Wednesday! I apologize for not posting an update blog last week, I had some family issues to attend to! Well, we’re back in the swing of things now, so lets get to this weeks Florida Living update!

I feel as though I’ve been out of the loop lately. My mom had surgery last week, and I’ve been preoccupied with that. Thank God she came through good and is on the road to recovery. This is the first time anything major has happened with family in Michigan since we moved down here last June. I swear, when I lived close to family nothing important ever happened! As most of you know, one of the biggest concerns I had regarding moving to Florida was leaving family behind. It’s hard being away from them. Finding out my mom needed surgery was a rough one because I knew there wasn’t much I could do. Being away from our loved ones really puts things into perspective though. Sure, I love Disney, but I love my family at home more, and I still try to plug in with them as much as I can. Finding balance is always an issue but I’m working on it. Also, the saying is true, absence really DOES make the heart grow fonder! I can’t wait to go back home in the Summertime! Speaking of Summer…..

Just like magic, in the past week Orlando has rapidly switched over to Summer! Sure, it’s technically not even Spring yet, but it sure feels like it. With temps in the 80’s, it feels like the seasons switched over immediately. Being that this is our first Spring in Florida, I guess I wasn’t sure what to expect. It’s pretty nice though. Yesterday I cut my grass, and I was thinking to myself…. it’s March and I’m giving the lawn it’s first cut for the season. In Michigan, we don’t have to do that till the end of May. Such a huge difference. Being that it’s beautiful outside, the parks have been slammed! If you look at MDE the lines are super long at each park, and it’s only going to get worse. Next week is Florida’s Spring Break, so the parks will be slammed. We’re used to having Spring Break at Easter time, but that’s not the case down here. Yes, it’s going to be busy, but I’m trying to think of things for the boys to do next week on the Disney front. Maybe a water park if the weather stays nice! Wow, Typhoon Lagoon in March? Maybe so!

Well that’s it for this weeks update. I want to say again how grateful I am for all the well wishes and prayers you sent me for my mom and our family. We really felt those prayers and it truly helped. The way our Disney Family rallied behind us is nothing short of magic, and I thank you for that! Until next week…. sending you lots of blessings and pixie dust! See ya real soon! ~M

  1. Weekdays in May are actually one of the best times to visit all year. Crowds will be low, except for Memorial Day weekend. And there is still a chance of cooler days as well. We have been well above normal the last couple weeks. I remember last Easter it was chilly.
