Well Marvel fans, it’s Tuesday and you all know what that means, we get to see the next installment of “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D”.
Last week, Episode 19 “The Only Light in the Darkness”, Agent Koenig (Oswald Patton) put each member of Coulson’s team in a lie detector test that is said no one can beat. Ward, lucky for him, does beat the test and is able to cover up that he is part of HYDRA. All team members pass and all are given lanyards to wear with cards. We find out later, these are for tracking the agents. Coulson, after speaking to Ward, realizes all the prisoners at the Fridge are free and he needs to go and stop Darkforce as he will be out to get the cellist, Audrey Nathan who is the former love interest of Coulson. Audrey has no idea that Coulson is alive and believed he died in the battle of New York from The Avengers. He never comes in contact with Audrey through the episode which had fans wondering if he would tell her he was alive or not. Eventually they draw in Blackout and they are able to overload him with energy which causes him to explode.
Back at the hidden lair, Agent May leaves walking out the door as she is tired of Coulson not trusting her and she needs to fix this. Left in the lair are Koenig, Ward and Skye. Koenig gets Skye to hack into the NSA and use it to watch what is going on at the Fridge. Ward gets Koenig alone and kills him. So that Skye doesn’t discover what he has done, Ward attempts to seduce Skye. Skye does discover Koenig’s body and realizes that Ward is HYDRA. To avoid meeting her own death, she works with Ward and the two of them steal the Bus before Coulson and the others return to the base. Later in the episode, we see May walking and she is picked up by a older woman we come to find out is her mother in Ontario, Canada and that May needs to find Agent Maria Hill.
So on to tonight’s show. Episode 20 is titled “Nothing Personal” and the synopsis of the show is:
“Just when there’s no one left to trust, Agent Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) — from “Marvel’s The Avengers” and “Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Solider” — returns to team up with Coulson as S.H.I.E.L.D. is being destroyed around them.”
We have seen Agent Maria Hill in some of the different films and we know, from Captain America: The Winter Soldier she is one of the few that knows Director Fury is alive and she appears to be true to S.H.I.E.L.D. I’ve also read that Deathlok will be returning tonight and we haven’t seen him since the events of Captain America. We know before that he was under the power of the Clairvoyant, it will be interesting to see where his character goes moving forward.
Marvel released a clip from tonight’s episode. In the clip we see Agent Maria Hill talking on her phone while walking through the streets. She is talking to someone in regards to testifying to congress about everything that is going on and also talking about the threats around her as she walks. We then find out she is talking to Pepper Potts, Tony Starks partner and the CEO of Stark Industries, and Maria Hill’s new boss. Agent May shows up and tell’s Hill that Coulson needs her help. They talk about who ordered Fury to save Coulson and everything else that is going on. Watch the clip below and don’t forget to watch tonight’s all new episode.
