Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is the basis for many theories and rumors floating around the net. We do know a lot of what will take place on the show this week and next, but there is still a big unanswered question.
1. Who is the Clairvoyant?
There has been a lot of speculation as to who this could be. The biggest rumor, and the one I think all “Fangirls” would love is Loki is the Clairvoyant. That’s right The God of Mischief. First, it’s no secret that Tom Hiddleston would love to be on the show. Plus this would be a way to keep him involved, as he is not due in another Marvel movie for some time. Last we saw him, he was sitting on his father Odin’s throne in Asgard. Now we know that Heimdall, in Asgard, has the ability to see all that is going on everywhere at one time. It’s not unlikely that Odin has the same powers and if Loki is sitting at his throne, he may have the same abilities now. This would explain how he could know everything as the Clairvoyant has shown.
Another reason it could be Loki, if you think back to the Avengers film… Who was it that shot Loki and sent him flying through a wall? It was Agent Coulson before he appeared to die. So I’m sure Loki has a bone to pick with Coulson for that and for also coming back to life after Loki believed he killed him. We also know that Loki still wants revenge on the Earth and the Avengers for defeating him. In addition to this we also need to find out more about Skye and why the Agency was protecting her for so long. I even read a rumor that maybe she is Loki’s daughter.
Another theory I saw of who could be the Clairvoyant was Arnim Zola. Now I’m sure there are some reading this wondering who is Arnim. If you saw Captain America: The First Avenger. Arnim was the HYDRA scientist who appears to be Red Skull’s right hand man. At the end of that film its believed he was still alive and in the allies custody. It was confirmed that Toby Jones, the actor who played Zola will be in Captain America: The Winter Soldier so this could be a way to introduce him before the film hits theaters. Zola was a brilliant scientist and performed an experiment on himself that would basically make him immortal. He has always been a villain that battled Captain America and the Avengers so it could be him.
There are many other theories, but these are my favorite ones. So does this mean there is going to be a cameo in one of the next 2 episodes of S.H.I.E.L.D.? We know that Lady Sif will be in next weeks episode. She may have been sent to Earth to help keep Loki from causing more issues. Her brother is actually Heimdall and could have warned her of Loki’s plans. But there are also rumors of Chris Evans, Captain America himself, showing up in one of the episodes based on a tweet that Ming-Na Wen put out yesterday.
I know it’s a little hard to read but it says: “#AgentsofSHIELD has #CaptainAmerica’s shield in background in #ABC ad! So epic! New ep this tues, March 4th, 8pm!”
Ming-Na is the actress who plays Agent Melinda May, in case you were wondering why I used her tweet. Normally the S.H.I.E.L.D. Logo is behind the words, but this ad showed Captain America’s shield so is this a hint? If it’s the Captain that shows up then it could be Zola as the Clairvoyant or he could be showing up as a coincidence and Loki could be still involved.
Of course this is all speculation and we don’t know what is going to happen, but the next two episodes of S.H.I.E.L.D. will hopefully answer a lot of questions that the fans have. Plus it’s always fun to listen to different theories and see if any of it comes true. Regardless of what happens, I’m sure we won’t be disappointed.
