Replica of Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion Selling in Atlanta for $2.2 Million
Former owners had the property built in 1996 using actual plans from the popular theme-park attraction. There’s even a mirror that talks back to you!
Hey Foolish Mortals.. this one’s for you! Have you ever wished you could live in the Haunted Mansion or someplace with the same aesthetic? Well, there’s a home for sale that was constructed by some Disneyland Haunted Mansion fans that’s up for sale! It’s in the suburbs of Atlanta and going for 2.2 million dollars! Whew!
Custom built in the neighborhood of Sweet Bottom, is a carbon copy of the haunted house that’s considered one of the most popular attractions in Disneyland! I know it’s my favorite there!
While similar in appearance, there are a few key differences between the two houses.
“The home is not haunted and there are no ‘doom buggy rides,’ floating candelabras, graveyards, or floors dropping out from underneath,” said listing agent Gail Laney of Re/Max Around Atlanta, who brought the home to the market last week. Instead, “it’s a pleasant surprise to all who enter,” she said, with warm, inviting interiors.

“Everyone seemed to be surprised at the quality of construction as well as additional updates that have been made to the property. Most homes in this area of that age have not been updated to this extent,” she said of the 28-year-old home.
At almost 9,500 square feet, the house has an open concept with living and dining spaces alongside a chef’s kitchen. There’s also a sunroom that looks out over the backyard and adjoining wooded conservation land, a grilling deck, and elaborate cast iron details forged in a foundry specifically for Disney, according to the listing.
There are six bedrooms in the home, including a primary suite with a morning kitchen, a luxurious bathroom and two walk-in closets with custom built-ins.
The basement, meanwhile, is primed for entertaining with a full bar, a pool room, a poker table, and media space; and there’s a full, unfinished apartment over the three-car garage.
Along with the backyard, there’s a roof deck with a sitting area, dining space and a hot tub.
The home’s original owner was a contractor for the Disney Company, Laney explained.
“He grew up a Disney nut because his dad was an animator for Walt Disney. He got permission to get access to the original plans of the Haunted Mansion in Disneyland,” she said. “He then got approval from the Sweet Bottom developer, as it was a perfect fit for the New Orleans section of the community.”

Any home built in the neighborhood is required to “be influenced by the personality and welcoming feeling of traditional American towns,” Laney added, noting that the homes in the enclave “are a diversity of styles from Charleston, New Orleans, Savannah and New England.”
The home has changed hands since then, and sold to the current owners, who couldn’t be reached for comment, in 2014 for $610,000, records with PropertyShark show.
But the former owners “did leave a few of the original gargoyle light fixtures in the elevator shaft stairwell, and the half bathroom on the main floor has an audio-animated mirror that speaks to you when you wash your hands,” Laney said.
The seller also has some original art of “the Hitchhiking Ghosts,” the three resident spirits of the Haunted Mansion.
